Bill's Bullpen was founded December 15th 1987. After receiving his degree in communication studies and history from the University of San Diego, Bill Jr along with his father acquired a fledgling sports and comic shop business in Hollister.
It was located at 414 San Benito Street and it quickly became a place for youngsters to gather with their parents and discover the fun of the hobby. The healthy interest in sports and sports cards quickly grew primarily because of Bill Jr's dedication to his business and to his customers of all ages. Then things all changed when the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake ravaged the area. Bill's Bullpen was forced to close and the building was later demolished.
Without wasting time, Bill Jr and his father located a new site with the help of the community and re-opened November 1st, 1989 at it's current location. Noticing that there were more and more customers coming from the southern part of the city, Bill opened Bill's Bullpen II in January 1993. The second location subsequently closed in February of 2006.
Bill's Bullpen calls itself "THE FAMILY FUN STORE" because we try and create an environment where parents can feel assured that it is a good place for their children. A place where folks can explore their hobbies and develop new ones. A store where personal service and politeness are still a priority.
Bill's Bullpen looks forward to being part of Hollister and the Central Valley Coast for many more years.
